Whiskey Wallowing

(Derek Carter)

A confessional and emotionally heavy lyric, “Whiskey Wallowing” follows a broken man hiding behind liquor, small talk, and temporary company while still clinging to the ghost of a past love. It explores the cycle of self-destruction and denial, where every sip is an escape and every distraction is just a reminder of the one he truly misses.

(Verse 1) Watching the whiskey fill my glass I'm broken and thinking of you Here to escape from my past Sitting in this crowded saloon (Bridge) Trying to fake some happiness I'll talk with her and try to forget Pretend that I'm not a mess She'll think that I'm ready for this (Chorus) Here I am whiskey wallowing Watch me as I fall again Living life such a hollow man Here I am whiskey wallowing (Verse 2) I'll be drinking myself sober She'll think she can fix my issues I'll end up at home with her While I try to pretend she's you (Bridge) Trying to fake some happiness I'll talk with her and try to forget Pretend that I'm not a mess She'll think that I'm ready for this (Chorus) Here I am whiskey wallowing Watch me as I fall again Living life such a hollow man Here I am whiskey wallowing (Chorus) Here I am whiskey wallowing Watch me as I fall again Living life such a hollow man From all of your empty promises (Outro) Whiskey wallowing (watch me fall again) Whiskey wallowing (such a hollow man) Whiskey wallowing (empty promises) Whiskey wallowing (whiskey wallowing) Whiskey wallowing

No Pressure

By Annabel Chima

This song is quite niche...it's about gate-keeping the Exotical Community - for ALL Exoticals (Dark-Skinned, Brown-Skinned, Light-Skinned) - basically people who are Mixed/Admixed or 'look Mixed'. Further to this, it is about forming a safe space for us - or perhaps a new 'World' for us where we leave behind the outdated systems and form our own communities... I focus on the need to protect the young ones/the kids so that certain cycles don't repeat. I grew up hearing people bombard me with questions like, "What are you Mixed with?" and even had adults not believing my parents are my parents or saying I should "question them" about where I "really" come from (insinuating that my parents were hiding a certain DNA admixture in my bloodline from me)...I do not want my 'future' kids to go through that and I know that many Mixed/Admixed people can relate to this. I want my 'future' Exotical kids to be surrounded by other Exoticals who understand them/their looks/phenotype/ethnic background etc, not a society that constantly pokes at their looks and analyses how 'exotic' they look 24/7. We are often criticised more than others and feel the pressures to perform well or be 'perfect' in society. Additionally, it is not our fault that the world pedestalises us; we should own who we are, what we look like, and our accomplishments; I want us to be free, hence the song title, 'No Pressure'. The lyrics are just an Ode to ALL Exoticals - I want solidarity between us...do with it as you please! Genres: Rap, Hip Hop, RnB, Trap, Drill, Country, Poetry.

High, then low

By Izzy

The Man

This song is about becoming a man from a boy and growing to become true champions it is also a song that describes how our love interest feels about us, it is a song about getting stronger and believing that tomorrow is a better day and it also touches on violence by people who do not share the same values and beliefs.
